| Practice Description:
Everyone has
the potential to live in a state of enthusiasm, joy and love.
I help you realize that potential. I have a holistic approach
to therapy. I use mind/body approaches to help you make the
inner connections that can set you free of patterns that are
causing problems. Body-centered therapy is effective because
as you notice the expressions of your physical body, you begin
to recognize emotions and subconscious messages from your
inner self. Sometimes we are just tuning into your body. Other
times, I may use movement or art or journal writing as a way
to help you connect with your subconscious. I am a
hypnotherapist so I use hypnotherapy as a tool to discover why
you can't let go of old patterns or grief as well as to help
you discover and bring to life your deepest desires and
passionate life purpose. I have found that simply talking
about problems is seldom enough because we need to engage our
beings on five levels to make lasting change. We need to
involve not just our minds, but also our wills, emotions,
bodies and spiritual selves. Spirituality (as distinct from
religion) is an area that I particularly emphasize. I
encourage you to incorporate your personal spiritual beliefs
in the healing process because this greatly accelerates
transformation.
Most of the
time the difficulties you face in the present have their roots
in the past and that's why you can't shift them simply by
changing your behavior in the present. I believe that love is
the ultimate healing force. Most of us have trouble loving
parts of ourselves and some of the people and memories from
our past, but we may or may not be consciously aware of what
we are rejecting. I help you find the unloved parts of
yourself, be it an inner child, teenager, or personality trait
and accept, forgive, and love yourself to freedom. Acceptance
and forgiveness of other people can only happen when you have
first embraced yourself and any resentment you are still
nursing is holding you back from your full potential.
I also
emphasize the skills of healthy relationships in my practice
and I teach regular classes on relationship topics. My
training from the Hendricks Institute taught me skills that
turned my life around. I use these skills all the time in my
relationship with my husband and am very happily married. I
love watching peoples lives change for the better as they
learn these skills. In addition to teaching the skills, I help
you discover the subconscious attitudes and beliefs that are
preventing you from having a healthy relationship. I work with
relationship issues with both gay and straight couples as well
as individuals.
